While you're here, there's a myriad of things to see and do while you're out and about.

  • Shannon Park is situated on the main street at the bottom of Bridge Street.  There's tables and chairs where you can sit and eat.  A grassed area if you enjoy a picnic.  A skate board track for those kidlets to try their skating athleticism on or you can go down to the jetty for a swim or a fish in the Orara River.  A BBQ is also available if you wish to have a cookout at the park.  The BBQ was a donation from the Lions Club of NSW.  A small donation box is attached.  All donations assist the Lions Club in the cleaning and maintenance of the BBQ.

  • The Coffs Coast area is the renowned 4WD area in NSW.  There's plenty of 4WD tracks from novice to advanced.  If you pop into ARB 4WD & Ute Extra's Coffs Harbour, you can grab a map of all the 4WD suitable tracks in the area.  Check out the guys at Woolgoolga Off Road.  They can help you with all the "ins and outs" of the tracks and which ones are best suited for you.  At the end of the day, you stay at the Glenreagh Rec Ground which is central to most of the tracks.

  • For those who love their "Retail Therapy" and can't do without it, the first Saturday of each month (except January) is for you.  On this day, Glenreagh has its CWA Jumble Sale at the CWA Hall, The Glenreagh Community Markets at the School of Arts Hall and the museum is open.  At the School of Arts Hall, the kitchen is open for home made scones with jam and cream, egg and bacon rolls, and lots of other stuff.

  • If you love rummaging thru Garage Sales, then this one is for you.  The Saturday of the long weekend in October is the "Glenreagh Giant Garage Sale".  This is where the whole of Glenreagh opens up their houses on the same day and has one giant garage sale for all to enjoy.  You're sure to find something you want or something you think you wanted.  Address maps for those who are selling are available on the day.

  • The last Saturday in July is when you really need to be there.  Why???  The Glenreagh Timberfest is held at the Glenreagh Rec Ground.  There's a huge amount stalls, displays, timber chopping competition, live bands, food stalls, exhibits, etc.  This is all to celebrate the history of timber and timber milling that the area is known for.  In 2023, there were approximately 8,500 visitors to the festival.  You can check out the Timberfest Website for more information - https://glenreaghtimberfestival.com.au/
